RMHI Committee Information

A.      Planning, Long Term Goals and Funding Steering Committee (“Steering Committee”):  This committee’s short term focus will be on the RMHI Organization Structure, identifying and recruiting the co-chairs (3 or 4 total) for the RMHI Steering Committee, and staffing the working committees.  Funding refers to raising money as needed for major mental health education efforts.  For example, the RMHI effort has the potential to be a galvanizing force to unite the Mental Health Community’s educational efforts and to assist them in seeking out sources of funding (e.g. Foundation grants, corporate funds, et al).  The Co-chairs of the RMHI:  Diane M, Bill F, Chuck E and one unfilled co-chair seat will make up the Steering Committee.  These Co-chairs may also serve on one or both of the two Working Committees.

B.      Marketing, PR, and Website Working Committee: This committee is responsible for RMHI's effectiveness in communicating internally (i.e. to the Rotary world) and externally (to everyone else----mental health professionals, our communities, people looking for mental health information, et al).  The Co-chairs of this committee:  Two to four co-chairs as determined by the people who agree to serve in this capacity.  The chemistry and needs of the individuals will determine the number.  These Co-chairs may also serve in other RMHI capacities as well.

Areas of focus for the committee include:

·         Website creation and maintenance.

·         Database collection.  Names and email addresses, and other appropriate information that help coordinate and communicate with parties of interest.  Constant Contact is our primary tool in this effort.

·         Creating and managing the RMHI marketing effort at District and Zone Rotary Conferences, or other Large Meetings where we want to spread the word about Rotary’s commitment to mental wellness.

·         Manage and increase our involvement in the Rotary Mental Health Action Group.  This RAG should welcome us, and we should do everything possible to make this a powerful, effective, and well known RAG in the Rotary World.   This effort is hugely important.

·         Submit RMHI articles for the District Newsletter with the primary goal being increased mental health awareness and involvement.

·         Prepare a one-page flyer for use at regional district grant training seminars.

·         The dynamics and growth of RMHI may well add or subtract from these areas of focus as the committee deems best.

The goal is to continually expand the number of clubs actively engaged in mental wellness projects. The Co-chairs of the RMHI:  Two to four co-chairs as determined by the people who agree to serve in this capacity.  The chemistry and needs of the individuals will determine the number.  These Co-chairs may also serve in other RMHI capacities as well.
